M1 Pacific Motorway Exit 41 Interchange

Members of the BIM one team formed part of a Joint Venture that was engaged by TMR South Coast Region to deliver the Contract Administration scope during the construction of the M1 Pacific Motorway Exit 41 Interchange Upgrade.

The scope of the project involved:

  • Removing existing roundabouts and replaced them with signalised intersections to allow traffic to flow more efficiently
  • Realigning the existing southbound and northbound on-ramps and off-ramps away from the main interchange intersections to reduce conflict points and traffic queuing
  • Construction of a new bridge beside the current overpass to increase capacity across the interchange
  • Addeding a free-flowing left turn slip lane on the southbound off-ramp for traffic heading north on the Eastern Service Road

The project provided a number of safety benefits have been delivered for motorists using the M1 and the surrounding local road network, including Lahrs Road, Eastern Service Road, Computer Road, and Cuthbert Drive. The upgrade has improved access conditions for freight movements, making it easier and more reliable for heavy vehicles to navigate the interchange. As a result, traffic is now able to move more smoothly, thereby reducing congestion and queuing and transit times for all users of the motorway has improved.
