Coomera Connector Future Stages Business Case

The Coomera Connector Future Stages Business Case involved the concept design of approximately 42 kilometres of new motorway, including multiple grade-separated interchanges, local road upgrades, and extensive interfaces with existing utility networks. Given the scale of the corridor and the complexity of utility constraints, early and strategic utilities planning was critical to informing scope, cost, risk, and staging considerations.BIM one was engaged to lead the utilities component of the Business Case.

As Utilities Lead, Michael directed all consultation, negotiation, and coordination with utility authorities, and oversaw the detailed review and analysis of existing service data, including BYDA records, GIS datasets, and as-constructed documentation. Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary design team, BIM one identified key conflicts, developed concept-level relocation strategies, and informed construction sequencing and early works planning.

The team also produced detailed Public Utility Plant Layout Plans and concept relocation alignments in 12d/CAD for integration into the project's GIS platform. This proactive and data-driven approach provided clarity around utility risks, costs, and staging requirements -contributing to a robust, coordinated, and investment-ready business case for the future delivery of the Coomera Connector.
